Exploring Pottermore
Hello, hello. I am huge Harry Potter fan. I was first introduced to the books in 4th grade. My teacher at the time read the book out loud at the end of the day and since then I've been hooked. It has been 12 years and in that time I've read the books, seen the movies and I am now awaiting my early entrance into Pottermore.

This is a record of my experience exploring Pottermore.

My profile picture is something I found on flickr. It was taken by gainesp2003.

I am in no way affiliated with Pottermore Limited, J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros, Scholastic, Bloomsbury, etc. I am just a fan sharing my experience with the website Pottermore.

July 19 - The official Pottermore blog answers questions about Pottermore, but most importantly a hidden link within the post takes us to a past interview (February 3, 2000 at scholastic.com) with J.K. Rowling. The important part of the interview is when she is talks about the Magical Quill.

In Hogwarts there’s a magical quill which detects the birth of a magical child, and writes his or her name down in a large parchment book. Every year Professor McGonagall checks the book, and sends owls to the people who are turning 11.

A Pottermore Survey

What is your Pottermore username (without numbers)?

Secret…shh

On which day did you register?

Day two!

On a scale of one to ten, how excited are you about Pottermore?

Ten!

What do you think will be your favorite aspect of it?

Being able to “be” a wizard (getting a wand, being sorted, making potions, etc.)

Which house do you want to be sorted into? Why?

Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but whatever I get put in I will be happy about it.

Which of Harry Potter’s classmates do you best identify with?

Hermione, in the aspect that she is hardworking, perfectionist. Luna, in the aspect that she is smart, yet different and doesn’t care what other people think.

Are you pureblood, half-blood or Muggle-born?

Half-blood, because I would like to have some magical heritage.

Do you aspire to be more like one of the Prefects or the Marauders?

I would be in-between.

What would you do with the Marauder’s Map?

Sneak out of Hogwarts at night.

Where in Hogsmeade would you visit most often?

The Three Broomsticks. I would like to observe all the witches and wizards traveling from different places.

Would you enter your name into the Goblet of Fire?

Yes, after long deliberation and only if the organizers can guarantee that you won’t die.

How would you try to beat the First, Second, and Third Tasks of the Triwizard Tournament?

First: Something like what Cedric did, but instead of one dog, there would be more. And Wingardium Leviosa to bring the egg to me.

Second: First I would have to learn how to swim…Then I would do the Bubble-Head Charm (Again, like Cedric…Maybe I’m a Hufflepuff?)

Third: I would do what Harry did.

Which Quidditch position would you most likely play?

Beater

What would be your favorite Hogwarts class?

Charms or Herbology!

Do you anticipate taking your N.E.W.T.s?

Yes

What career path(s) might you consider after leaving Hogwarts?

Unspeakable…

Which of the Deathly Hallows would you treasure most?

The Invisibility Cloak

What would you most want to do with Polyjuice Potion?

I’d turn into someone of the opposite gender and see what it was like.

Would you support S.P.E.W.?

I’m not sure…house elves like serving…. However, if they were being treated like Dobby by the Malfloys, then I would support the house elves being fairly treated.

Should non-humans and half-breeds be allowed to carry wands?

Yes, but there should be an exchange of magical knowledge.

Would you go home for the break between terms, or stay at Hogwarts?

If nothing interesting was happening at Hogwarts then I would go home. I would especially like to spend one Christmas Holiday at the school.

What does your vault at Gringotts contain, if anything?

Some wizarding money, some muggle money, priceless things like photos, family history stuff.

What do you think your wand type will be?

Yew, 10 inches, with the hair of a unicorn.

What will your Patronus be? Why?

A Great Dane, because they are so big yet so gentle.

- selling fake accounts on eBay (some sellers are selling them up to $100+)
- asking for personal data or to register to get an account then sending malware, spyware or virus in return
- receiving a registration confirmation that when you open it, downloads a fake anti-virus warning to see your software
- links that take you to surveys or contests to get your personal information for spam purposes
